Length: 3.5 - 5.0 mm
There are records of Pentagonica flavipes from the southeastern U.S., Bahamas, Grand Caymen, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St. Croix, Antigua, Dominica, Guadalupe, Monserrat, Trinidad, Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Brazil. The species has also reported as an accidental introduction to the Galapagos Islands (Peck 2006; Bell, 1985; Blackwelder, 1944).
Bell (1985) remarked that what we call Pentagonica flavipes may actually be "a complex of sibling species, differing only in the form of the male genitalia."
These beetles are regular visitors to lights.
