The dark dorsal color has reflexions of greenish to bluish; the ventral surfaces are black. The first three antennal segments are a light reddish color, while the remainder are somewhat darker (Ciegler, 2000).

This photo has special meaning for the webmaster, since this pretty beetle was perched on his family's formica-topped dinner table from his youth.
