Length: 24 - 41 mm in genus
Micrathyria dragonflies have a pale face and turquoise eyes. The eye color fades in pinned specimens. Examination of the wing venation is required to separate members of the genus Micrathyria from related genera.
This is not a riverine genus; look for these dragons in ponds, lakes, oxbows, canals, and even saline marshes. Females are often found well away from water.
