The most common of the colorful metallic Long-legged Flies are in the subfamily Sciapodinae. The one shown here is in the most commonly encountered genus in the Americas, Condylostylus.
These images were made in Montsinéry, French Guiana. The fly had a blue-purple reflex in certain light.
