Length: typically 5.5 - 7.2 mm
Species in the genus Chlorotettix are usually green, occasionally brownish. Typically the host plants are grasses. Adults seem to be most common between July and October.
As with so many groups of leafhoppers, reliable identification of Chlorotettix to species is usually only possible by a careful examination of the male's aedeagus or the female's seventh sternum.
