Cataulax pudens is found from Honduras to Venezuela; most records thus far are from Panama. It differs from similar species by being shorter, having a somewhat pointed tip of the scutellum, and a corium that is barely reaches past the scutellum. The rostrum extends past the middle of the fourth abdominal sternite when at rest.
The bug shown here was attracted to lights, in Pico Bonito National Park, Honduras. Photo determined by Dr. Donald B. Thomas, USDA Agricultural Research Service.
