Apiomerini is a New World tribe of insects that includes eleven genera.Heniartes (31 species) is one of 12 extant genera in the tribe Apiomerini. The common name Resin Bugs is sometimes used for the tribe, and refers to the bugs' habit of collecting plant resins on the forelegs and using the sticky resin to help capture prey. Females also coat their eggs with protective resin, and both males and females have comb-like structures on their metatibiae that can be used to spread resins.
